Acorns!!! I've been quite excited recently about the prospect of jewelery made from acorns! While I originally was only considering making stuff for myself it occurred to me that it might be a perfect thing for the new print. Other then the dolls, the acorns seemed to be a particular favorite.
I've been collecting acorns for the past month, and have a really cute (and large) selection now. I drilled some holes the other day to turn them into beads, and still have all my fingers XD!
The acorns are sitting in some silica gel right now in order to dry them out, and then I plan on spraying them with some clear gloss coating. So excited!
Anyway here is the (currently) final design "sheet" for the Jumperskirt and matching accessories, including the jewlery.
As you can see I am going to be offering double headbows, as well as bows on hair combs. I've chosen the second design for the jsk based on your guys response (solid colored bands).
The jewelery will of course feature the acorn beads, with glass pearl accents. The findings (and chain) will be an antique gold/brass tone.
I just got the fabric in, and it looks great, based on the response, I got it without the polka-dots. I'll have to take a few pictures soon and post them here. It's such a pretty bright fabric, perfect for a cold drab winter!
I've also been working on the promo image for this line, and so far it's really cute, I'll also include a photo of the sketch in the next post.
Finally I've added some new stuff to the Lotv website. A new dress and two hats to the couture section, a photoshoot, and a tutorial for bow shoe clips
I hope you are all doing well, and am working like the dickens to get this new line ready! Which means that the "Excerpts from a Victorian Cookbook" line won't be available for order for much longer!
